Lose IT! Weight Loss Challenge

Rules & Regulations:

  • Do not have to be REC Center member to join challenge.
  • This year is an individual challenge.
  • Challenge begins January 9, 2026.
  • Challenge ends with the final weigh-in on April 3, 2026.
  • Fees are per person: $15 for member, $30 for non-member.
    • Lose It! does not include a REC Center Membership or use of our facilities if you are a non-member.
    • Please sign in at the front desk when arriving for weigh-ins.
  • Participants may register from December 8, 2025 until January 9, 2026.
  • Registration forms are available at the REC Center or register online.
  • All registrations must be submitted to the REC Center with payment.
  • Initial weigh-ins will be done from 7-9am, 11am-1pm, and 5-7pm on Friday, January 9, 2026. **Please try to make it during these designated times. Schedules are busy, we understand, but sometimes staff may not be available to weigh you in if you do not come in at those times.
  • Retention weigh-ins will be done on the following dates: Jan. 23, Feb. 6, Feb. 20, March 6, March 20 and final on April 3.
  • Individuals must attend all retention weigh-ins. If an individual does not weigh in, they will automatically be disqualified! If for any reason you cannot make it at one of the designated times on the weigh in days, please let the Program Director know and you will be allowed to weigh in before the designated weigh in day. You cannot weigh in after the scheduled retention day. When an individual weighs in, they will have to remove shoes/boots and coats.
  • Weigh-ins must be done at the REC Center.  On each retention weigh-in date, the contestant must come to the REC Center during the following times:  7-9am, 11am-1pm or 5-7pm. You do not have to attend the weigh-ins with your partner!
  • All participants will be responsible for maintaining their own fitness regimens.
  • All participants must be willing to be spotlighted in media outlets if asked.
  • FINAL RESULTS will be posted at the REC Center by Monday, April 3.  Winners will also be notified by phone.
  • Winners will be determined by total percentage of weight and body fat loss. At the end of the competition, all women participants will be given a 7% handicap on their body fat measurement. This calculation follows the standard difference between men and women as listed in the ACSM’s Resource Manual for Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription.
  • Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams with the largest % weight loss.
  • 1st place Grand Prize consists of: $300 cash prize, a REC Center Annual Individual Membership, 4 free personal training sessions.
  • 2nd place prize consists of: A 6 month REC Center Individual Membership. 4 free personal training sessions.
  • 3rd place prize consists of: A 3 month REC Center Individual Membership.
