On Deck Baseball Academy
On Deck Baseball Academy’s goal is to teach the strategy, discipline, physical and mental approach to become a complete baseball player. Learning these skills will benefit, enhance, define, and develop our athletes. Inspiring them through the education of baseball skillwork and in game knowledge, will advance their game beyond the competition. Through repetition, sound technique, and becoming their own coach, the athletes progression will help them become an asset to their team.
On Deck Sports Academy offers Hitting, Pitching, Fielding, and Catching lessons for athletes looking to take their game to the next level! Ages – 3rd grade and up.
Todd has coached at both the college and high school levels for the past 25 years as well as provided one-on-one or small group lessons for elementary and high school aged players. Todd’s passion for the game of baseball, and has a desire to work with athletes who want to improve and be the best they can be in this great game. He currently lives in Mt. Pleasant with his wife Heidi, who is a PE teacher in the FMCSD.
David is originally from Burlington, IA. Growing up in Burlington, he learned from former Burlington Bees coach and San Francisco Giants scout Jim Gabela. David was a 4 year varsity starter at Notre Dame High School where he earned multiple All-Conference and All-District honors. He also earned All-Hawkeye and Second Team All-State honors as well. After high school, he played for four years at NCAA Division II Quincy University. David currently teaches at Mediapolis Middle School. His coaching experience has included coaching for Ottumwa High School, and now serves as the Mount Pleasant 7th Grade baseball coach. He currently lives in Mt. Pleasant with his wife Brittany, who is a teacher at Clarke Elementary in New London.
